Even in the rain, she shines |
In keeping with the belief that everybody needs somebody, I encouraged my daughter to do a photo shoot. A year ago, she became a mom and it has been an extraordinary evolution to witness. As most new moms will tell you, she found herself consumed with being a mom and losing her individuality. Brittany is an amazing Natural Hair-care Specialist and Cosmetologist, between working, managing life, attempting to build a business, and taking care of Khloe, I saw her slowly disappearing. Brittany struggles to see her own greatness and she needed a reintroduction to herself. A singer, performer who has graced the stage of The Fox Theater several times, and hairstylist; she is not limited on talent. I have had the pleasure of watching her perform in several hair shows and as her mother I am hypnotized every time. When she steps on stage, a transformation takes place and she becomes this majestic being of movement and creative expression, she nails her roles like a pro!

Bronner Brother's Hair Show 2015 |
So when I see her shrinking and running from her greatness it literally pains me, when I see her listening to the voices of those who are intimidated by her presence, those people who tell her all that she is not and never telling her all that she absolutely is. When I see her not using her God given talents and gifts it breaks my heart. When I see her struggling to find her footing because she believed the opinions of the negative, it angers me. I have always been one of her biggest fans and I will continue to be. For the photo shoot, she did her own hair, I had her buy something cute, and we took pictures, in and in spite of the rain. To see her posing for the camera and moving for the videos made me happy; I saw her remember, Brittany.

LOCS are her passion |
While she is still getting her balance and learning to juggle life and motherhood, I am excited that she is starting to see what I see, a beautiful young woman capable of achieving all her dreams.
I asked her what she wanted my readers to know about her and she said, "don't give up. I give up so easily." I asked her why is it so easy for her to give up and she said, "I am easy to give up because in my mind I feel like I can't be successful and instead of trusting the process I just give up." It is my hope that as she grows, she will find faith in herself and faith in her abilities to be all the she was created to be. I am looking forward to the day when she settles comfortably and confidently into her independence and individuality. I wholeheartedly believe that our impromptu photo shoot gave her a glimpse of her true identity and she is courageously stepping into the unknown. I hope she pours her all into herself and becomes EXACTLY who she knows she can be. I applaud her, I support her, I push her; most importantly, I believe in her. Onward, Girl!
